Sport Aberdeen Wins at Prestigious Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Sport Aberdeen on being named as a winner at the ukactive Awards 2021, a UK-wide awards ceremony celebrating the active lifestyle sector, which took place virtually on 12 August 2021; understands that the award recognises the success of Sport Aberdeen’s Supported Physical Activity for Care Experienced (SPACE) project, which was delivered in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, and is the first of its kind in Scotland to provide support for care experienced young people to achieve positive destinations by using sport as a catalyst for positive change; notes that the project has continued to support vulnerable children and young people across the city throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; commends all the team at Sport Aberdeen, Aberdeen City Council and the community supporters involved in the project for their hard work and dedication, and wishes them continued success.
