Oot Wae Racism
The motion
That the Parliament applauds the work of the anti-racism group, Oot Wae Racism, in Orkney; notes what it sees as the importance of the group's counter-demonstration for racial equality, opposing what it understands was a white supremacist protest on Ward Hill; recognises the dedication of the organisers of the ‘You can bide here’ event, aimed at welcoming people to Orkney regardless of their background; welcomes the family-friendly, COVID-safe event, and commends the group on its commitment to anti-racist activism in the Orkney Isles.
