Beancross Primary, Gold-accredited Reading School
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Beancross Primary School in Grangemouth on becoming one of only two Gold-accredited Reading Schools, as part of the First Minister’s Reading Challenge 2021; notes that the Reading Schools initiative is an accreditation programme for schools that are committed to building a culture of reading for their learners and communities; acknowledges the importance and positive educational impact of reading on young people; recognises the vital role of teachers and staff in schools; thanks them for their dedication to helping children and young people grow and learn successfully; congratulates the pupils and staff at Beancross primary on this achievement, and encourages everyone to follow their example and discover, or rediscover, the joy in reading for pleasure.
