The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that, following the publication of a report from IBD UK on the state of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care, which was based on responses from over 10,000 adults and children with Crohn's disease or colitis, and more than three quarters of specialist IBD NHS services, NHS Grampian IBD service is developing an improvement plan that will focus on person-centred care and with a specific focus on supporting self-management, rapid availability of the multi-disciplinary team when needed via advice lines, as well as a choice of traditional and innovative digital appointments; notes that the service is currently working within the acute sector structures to secure resource to level up the IBD service to that expected by the IBD standards, and to therefore further progress the developments as laid out within the IBD UK report, and considers that more improvements are needed for the 44,000 people with Crohn’s disease or colitis in Scotland.
