Skaill Farm Shortlisted in British Farming Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Colin Davidson, of Skaill Farm in Orkney, on being shortlisted in the category of Beef Innovator of the Year at the British Farming Awards 2021; understands that the 405-hectare farm has been recognised for its sustainability with C-lock precision feeding technology, which helps the farm to both improve feed efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of each kilo of beef produced; recognises that, in addition to the data acquired from this cutting-edge technology, Mr Davidson also imports high genetic merit embryos from the USA, all of which enables the farm to select the animals with the most efficient genetics and helps provide customers with greater reassurance; commends Mr Davidson for his sustainable farming practices, and wishes him well for the future and for the British Farming Awards when they take place in October 2021.
