Street League’s Head Body Future Campaign Achieves Runner-up at the Scottish Power Foundation Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Street League's Head Body Future campaign for being selected as runner-up in the Innovation category at the Scottish Power Foundation Awards; understands that the charity is committed to minimising the detrimental and long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on young people, many of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds and must overcome practical and personal challenges when leaving school, looking for work, or during the early stages of their career; appreciates the work of the organisation’s teams, including those based in Renfrew, which quickly adapted in-person youth employability and sport programmes to suit a digital format, and ensured participants had money for food and internet access so they could use key services during the pandemic, and wishes Street League success in investing the £2,500 prize money in continuing to run free programmes across Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Angus for young people interested in daily sports sessions, skills-building, qualifications, and career advice in a fun and safe environment.
