95th Anniversary of the Sandwick SWI

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Sandwick branch of the Scottish Women's Institutes, in Orkney, on reaching its 95th anniversary; understands that Sandwick SWI celebrated the milestone with its first in-person meeting for 18 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic; notes that the Scottish Women's Institute was founded in 1917 and is one of Scotland’s leading member-based organisation with over 12,000 members nationwide; recognises the vital role SWI branches play in communities across Orkney and the rest of the country, helping to bring together women of all ages to have fun, form friendships, to campaign, share and to socialise, and congratulates all members of the Sandwick SWI branch on this significant milestone and wishes them all the very best for the future.
