Wishaw’s Artisan Restaurant’s Owner Awarded Whisky Guru of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Derek Mather, the owner of Artisan Restaurant, in Wishaw, has been recognised for his passion for whisky; understands that Derek was recognised as the Whisky Guru of the Year at the Scottish Pub and Restaurant awards; notes that Derek, who has had a keen interest in whisky since he was 18, beat a shortlist of four other whisky fans to lift the prestigious award; further notes that Derek and his wife, Fiona Mather, who run the restaurant together, are known for their whisky tastings and already have groups from Germany, Sweden, France and the USA interested in visiting Wishaw’s whisky hotspot to view their impressive collection of over 3000 bottles of whisky, and wishes Derek and Fiona all the very best for the future.
