Light the North's Farewell Weekend

The motion

That the Parliament commends the Light the North lighthouse trail, which recently announced its Farewell Weekend will take place from 29 to 31 October 2021, at the Gordon Barracks, Aberdeen; understands that the trail, which was organised by Clan Cancer Support, in partnership with Wild in Art, consists of 50 lighthouses and 90 little lighthouses painted by schools, community groups and artists; notes that the lighthouses are located throughout the highlands and the north east, including in Portlethen, Hazlehead, the Torry Battery and Nigg Bay; recognises that the Farewell Weekend will mark the end of a trail that launched on 9 August 2021 and gives people exciting opportunities to travel across the highlands and the north east to find the lighthouses; understands that the lighthouses will be put up for auction, with all money raised going to Clan Cancer Support; commends the organisers and everybody who contributed and participated in the trail, and wishes Clan Cancer Support and Wild in Art and their supporters every success at the farewell event.
