The motion

That the Parliament congratulates nine-year-old Connor Beck, from Renfrew, for completing the West Highland Way to raise £1,555.61 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF); understands he undertook the challenge of walking the trek from Milngavie to Fort William on seven days spread over four weekends, in memory of his beloved uncle, John Clark, who fundraised for BHF; appreciates that Connor also raised more than £3,400 for the charity last year by completing a 35km bike ride around Renfrewshire; notes that Connor finished his walk on the weekend that would have been his uncle John’s 36th birthday, and commends his inspirational efforts for the charity, which was very close to his uncle’s heart and is celebrating its 60th year of life-saving research for cures and treatments for heart and circulatory diseases.
