Partick Thistle League Cup Triumph, 50th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Partick Thistle FC on the 50th anniversary of its historic 4-1 victory over Celtic FC in the Scottish League Cup Final held on 23 October 1971 at Hampden Park; considers that this well-loved Glasgow institution has contributed greatly, over many years, to the community life of Maryhill and also to Scottish football, and hopes that the Club’s celebratory events are a huge success and that this season’s campaign results in Thistle achieving promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
