Ayrshire Hospitals are Fast Approaching COVID-19 Bed Capacity
The motion
That the Parliament notes with concern the reports that bed capacity in Ayrshire hospitals is fast approaching the COVID-19 bed capacity, as admissions hit their highest point in six months; further notes the reports that health chiefs are worried about an autumn COVID-19 surge, with 83 of the 93 designated beds for COVID-19 currently occupied; understands that this situation must improve before winter, with a surge of COVID-19 cases and other seasonal illnesses expected to surge; recognises that the longer this surge continues, the longer that elective surgeries will continue to be axed; thanks all NHS Ayrshire and Arran staff for continuing to work extremely hard, and wishes all patients with COVID-19 a fast recovery.
