Platform Launched to Support LGBT-inclusive Education
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the platform, lgbteducation.scot, which aims to support teachers as they deliver LGBT-inclusive education; recognises that LGBT-inclusive education is a term that refers to an educational approach of addressing prejudice by including the teaching of LGBT themes, including history, people role models, equalities and rights, into the learning pathway; notes that the platform was developed in partnership with teachers and parents; understands that the pilot of the teacher training module led to 99% of participants feeling that their understanding of LGBT-inclusive education had improved, and congratulates Time for Inclusive Education and its partners on what it sees as its ground-breaking work.
