Organ and Tissue Donation Week
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges that 20 to 26 September 2021 marked Organ and Tissue Donation Week; notes that it is six months since Scotland moved to an opt out system of organ and tissue donation; welcomes reports that over half of adults in the country have recorded their decision, the highest in the UK, with 51.5% registered to be a donor and 2.8% choosing to opt out, and encourages more people to record their decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register and tell their family and friends, so that more lives could be saved.
