Duke and Duchess of Rothesay Officially Open an Ayrshire Refuge Accommodation
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates South Ayrshire Women’s Aid as its renovated refuge accommodation is officially opened by the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay; notes that this accommodation provides refuge to women and children who are fleeing from domestic abuse; recognises that the opening of this space will provide eight flats to those who are in desperate need of safety; understands that their Royal Highnesses found the accommodation to provide privacy, alongside the offer of support and advice; supports the organisation as it continues to provide a vital service to women and children who are now placed in refuges and safe houses at unadvertised locations; understands that this accommodation will provide a lifeline, and wishes these women and children all the best as they begin receiving this support.
