Eddleston Water Path
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the securing of over £2 million pounds in funding from the Scottish Government and South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) to create the Eddleston Water Path, which will be an active travel path for walkers, cyclists, wheelers and horse riders between Peebles and Eddleston; understands that construction is due to start in November 2021, following the development of the project by a number of community groups, including Peebles Community Trust, Sustrans, SOSE, Peebles Community Council, Eddleston Community Council and Scottish Borders Council; believes that such projects are a key part of ensuring that active travel is as attractive a proposition as possible to people to encourage them to give it a go, both for the benefit of their own wellbeing and for the benefit of the environment, and looks forward to seeing the finished project.
