Gareth Brown from Kilwinning Completes Bob Graham Round

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Kilwinning’s Gareth Brown for successfully completing the Bob Graham Round, which is one of the toughest hill challenges in the country; understands that only one in three competitors complete the challenge, with Gareth crossing the finish line in 21 hours 57 minutes; notes that the route, which requires to be completed in 24 hours, covers 66 miles, 42 Lake District peaks and an 8,200m ascent; understands Gareth, who is a member of the North Ayrshire Athletics Club, took a team of eight supporters to run beside him at each leg of the challenge; commends him on his exceptional achievement, and wishes him future success.
