Dunoon Grammar, Scotland’s First Digital Schoolhouse
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Dunoon Grammar, which has been named as Scotland’s first digital schoolhouse; understands that the Digital Schoolhouse Initiative aims to use play-based learning to engage learners and teachers with the computing science curriculum; notes that the school will be joining a network of 50 other digital schoolhouses from around the world; acknowledges that major digital firms, including Nintendo, PlayStation, SEGA, Ubisoft and Outright Games are involved in the initiative; recognises the importance of finding new and innovative ways of teaching young people, and hopes that other schools will monitor the experience of Dunoon Grammar as a digital schoolhouse and look to adopt the initiative for their pupils and teachers.
