Carsphairn Community Woodland Awarded Vital Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Carsphairn Community Woodland in Dumfries and Galloway on its ground-breaking plans to take forward a series of innovative projects at Muirdochwood that will aim to provide a forest base for the community to enjoy, train and develop skills in forestry and rural husbandry, provide agriculture and environmental learning opportunities for both young and old, promote sustainable tourism attraction with inclusive access and create jobs in a rural setting; welcomes the funding package put together by South of Scotland Enterprise to allow the initiative to move forward; wishes all involved with it every success, and hopes that it will encourage other communities in the region to consider similar projects that will aim to support and boost rural areas and the environment.
