Congratulations to The Prince’s Foundation, Fresh Start

That the Parliament congratulates The Prince’s Foundation programme, Fresh Start, which is located at Dumfries House, on being a finalist in the Education category at the national Helping It Happen Awards 2021, which is managed by the rural business organisation, Scottish Land and Estates; notes that it was shortlisted for its nature-based learning programme, which promotes learning and aims to address issues faced by school pupils amid the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that this programme is led by Richard Kay from the Foundation who commented that "the return to school has been intensified for young people after a prolonged period of learning from home due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Loss of old friendships, feelings of isolation alongside changes to established methods of learning are reported to be risk factors, particularly for children already vulnerable to life changes", and wishes Richard and Fresh Start all the very best for the awards ceremony.
