Ayrshire Records 60 Suspected Drug Deaths Between January and June 2021
The motion
That the Parliament notes with concern that the Ayrshire region recorded 60 suspected drug deaths between January and June 2021; is further concerned that there was an increase in drug deaths across Scotland last year by 75 deaths, with an overall total of 1,339; acknowledges that every drug death is a tragedy; understands that reported rehab funding reductions by the Scottish Government are having a devastating impact, and believes that the Scottish Government must start listening to frontline experts if drug-users are to be supported in their mission to recovery.
