Ayrshire Businesses Seek Clarity on Scotland’s Freeports

The motion

That the Parliament notes with concern that details of the Scottish Government’s plan for green ports have not yet been published; understands that businesses require details on how these ports will operate in order to plan ahead; further understands that the UK Government had planned two freeports in Scotland, but these plans no longer remain in place after a breakdown in negotiations; acknowledges reports that unless the Scottish Government provides a timely update on green ports then construction delays will continue, and believes that without this update, Scotland’s impact in attracting global investment will not be as strong.
