University of Stirling Welcomes His Majesty King Carl XVI and Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the recent visit by His Majesty King Carl XVI and Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden to the Dementia Services Development Centre located within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Stirling; understands that the King and Queen toured the facility, which includes the permanent display of rooms and equipment that have been adapted to support those living with dementia; recognises the continued world leading research carried out at the university to develop innovative housing solutions for those people living with cognitive conditions such as dementia, which aims to allow them to stay in their own homes for longer; notes that the support of the Silviahemmet Foundation, founded by Her Majesty Queen Silvia, helps to fund this vital research into new care technologies, and wishes all those involved in this important research the best of luck in the years ahead.
