Forth Valley College Staff and Students Join the Hedgehog Friendly Campus Campaign

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the campaign by Forth Valley College to raise awareness and increase the numbers of hedgehogs at their campuses in Stirling, Alloa and Falkirk by joining the Hedgehog Friendly Campus campaign, which is funded by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society; recognises the concerns expressed across the UK about the rapid decline in the hedgehog population, which has fallen by up to 50% in the last 20 years; understands that the species is now classified as being "vulnerable to extinction" due to loss of habitat; supports all those involved in plans to create wildlife corridors and increase habitats, and encourages all schools, colleges and universities across Scotland to join this important biodiversity project.
