The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Polar Express Train Ride will make a stop in Angus on the Caledonian Railway during the 2021 festive season; understands that the experience is based on the 1985 book by Chris Van Allsburg, Polar Express, and the 2004 cinema release of the same name; believes that this is the first time that it will be hosted in Scotland and will take place on the Caledonian Railway’s Brechin-Bridge of Dun service, which is a four-mile branch line that was built in 1848; notes that the Caledonian Railway is an entirely volunteer-run charity that restores, maintains and operates the heritage railway, running steam and diesel hauled trains along the line, which closed to passenger services in 1952; wishes everyone involved with the railway charity and the running of the Polar Express experience every success when it arrives in December, and hopes that the community in Angus will enjoy this opportunity to experience some festive magic.
