Portsoy 75 Club Raises Funds to Make Lighthouse Artwork at Portsoy Harbour a Permanent Feature
The motion
That the Parliament commends Portsoy 75 Club in its efforts to raise funds to retain the Ceramic Lighthouse in Portsoy as a permanent feature of the Light The North, Lighthouse Trail; understands that the Lighthouse, which is a piece of mosaic artwork named Riding Out the Storm, is currently owned by the cancer charity CLAN, which provides emotional and practical support to people affected by the condition and that all funds raised will contribute to the work of the charity; notes that the Lighthouse will be sold at auction on 1 November 2021; understands that, should the bid be unsuccessful, funds raised will be distributed to support community groups, activities and events in Portsoy; recognises the hugely valuable work done by Portsoy 75 Club to foster community spirit in the Banffshire and Buchan Coast constituency, and congratulates all involved for a successful event, wishing them well in their future endeavours.
