Lewis Gibson, World Figure Skating Championships

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Prestwick’s Lewis Gibson on his terrific performance at the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm with his partner, Lilah Fear; recognises that Lewis has been skating since 2006, when he made his start at Ayr Ice Rink; applauds Lewis’s talent, which should secure two places for Team GB at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing in 2022; acknowledges that the pair are backed by the Ayrshire firm, QTS, which supports young athletes such as Lewis; highlights the commitment and dedication that both Lewis and Lilah have put into their training over the years; commends them on their outstanding work, and wishes them all the best for the future.
