David Laing Raises Over £2,000 for Cancer Research UK
The motion
That the Parliament commends 78-year-old David Laing for raising over £2,000 for Cancer Research UK by walking and cycling almost 7,000 miles during lockdown; congratulates him on his award at the Scottish ClubSport Conference; recognises the additional work that he has done in the community as a telephone kindness volunteer with Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, and in collating Protecting Vulnerable Groups applications for the Scottish Borders Disability Sports Group, and considers that David is a true inspiration to the Borders community.
