Waterfront Cinema Celebrates 25th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament appreciates the role played by the Waterfront Cinema in the Inverclyde community as it reaches its 25th anniversary; notes that the Greenock-based cinema is a place to enjoy the big screen experience locally, offering live theatre and concert showings, as well as major blockbusters; commends the cinema’s Fun Film Club, which takes place every Saturday morning for an autism-friendly screening that aims to introduce young children to the cinema environment; recognises that the cinema also offers regular screenings of older films, especially around Halloween and Christmas, so that people of all ages can enjoy their favourite films on the big screen again or for the first time; understands that for its 25-year celebrations, the cinema is offering free tickets on 18 October 2021 for three family-friendly screenings; believes that, as an independent cinema, the Waterfront is able to provide screenings not typically on offer at major cinema outlets, enabling it to respond to local demand and develop a strong customer base locally; hopes that this success will continue, and wishes the cinema all the best for the future.
