Royal National Mòd Gold Medal Winners

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Mairi Aisling Callan and John Joe MacNeil on being awarded the An Comunn Gàidlealach Gold Medal at the Royal National Mòd in Inverness; recognises that Mairi has been going to the Mòd since she was five and won four other trophies on the same day; commends John, who is from Barra, whose performance of his own songs won him multiple prizes; celebrates that these young people are playing an important role in ensuring the future of the Gaelic language and culture, and understands that the Royal National Mòd aims to amplify Scottish Gaelic literature, songs, culture and art.
