The motion
That the Parliament commends Wendy Bowen, headteacher for Papdale Primary School in Orkney, on reaching the summit of Ben Nevis and raising more than £3,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Action; understands that Wendy undertook the challenge in memory of a dear friend, Catherine, who was lost to pancreatic cancer; notes that Wendy completed the climb to the summit of the UK's highest mountain in just over four hours and was accompanied by Max, a guide from Hunter Mountaineering and Ben Nevis Guides; recognises that Pancreatic Cancer Action is dedicated to saving lives by improving early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and the quality of patient survival; thanks all those who have generously donated towards Wendy's online fundraising effort, and commends Wendy on her huge fundraising feat, which will go towards the funding of vital research, create medical education programmes, and produce national awareness campaigns and vital patient information.
