Dusherra 2021 Celebration

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Indian Arts Forum (SIAF), a registered Scottish charity, on the celebration of its annual flagship event, Dusherra, at the iconic Calton Hill in Edinburgh; notes that SIAF is devoted to inspiring and empowering ethnic communities through advancing arts and culture as a platform to enhance equality and active citizenship; acknowledges the support given to the Dusherra 2021 event by the City of Edinburgh Council, One City Trust, Smart PA, the Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh, Frank Ross, the Consul General of India, Bijay Selvaraj, and SIAF’s Patron, Cllr. Donald Wilson; understands that Dusherra has been celebrated by SIAF as being widely accessible to the public for the past 27 years, and believes that Dusherra is one of the most sought-after events for the ethnic community during the calendar year.
