The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen City Council and BP on forming a commercial partnership to build a green hydrogen production hub in Aberdeen; understands that this vital partnership will establish Aberdeen as a world-class base for hydrogen, with phase one set to deliver a £215 million project, creating Scotland’s first scalable facility capable of producing green hydrogen; further understands that, alongside this partnership, hydrogen is already being used to power a fleet of 25 buses and 60 public sector vehicles, showing that Aberdeen and the north east is at the centre of reaching net zero obligations; commends the two million passengers who have travelled on the city’s hydrogen buses, with CO2 savings in excess of 100 tonnes over the last six years, and wishes the best to Aberdeen City Council and BP with this partnership, in helping to tackle climate change.
