Borders Finalists Prepare for Scottish Health Awards 2021
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the two individuals and one team shortlisted from NHS Borders for the Scottish Health Awards 2021; notes that this comprises Ross Mackie, Team Manager for Adult Community Mental Health, for the Care for Mental Health Award due to his work to further the peer support worker initiative in mental health services, Jane Allison, a Podiatrist at Galashiels Health Centre, for the Allied Health Professional Award for her "great fortitude and tireless work" during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that all high-risk patients were seen regularly through a review system and coordination of patient care teams, avoiding many admissions to hospital, and the Pregnancy Assessment Unit, which has been shortlisted for the Midwifery Award for its care throughout the pandemic while managing relocation from an acute base to a community setting; believes that these are great examples of the fantastic work that NHS Borders and social care staff have done throughout the pandemic; thanks them for all their efforts, and wishes them the best of luck when the winners are announced at an awards ceremony on 4 November 2021.
