Keeping the Concessionary Daytripper Ticket
The motion
That the Parliament notes with concern reports that the Daytripper scheme will be withdrawn by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport; understands that the scheme allows passengers discounted unlimited same-day travel across Strathclyde with up to four children, without having to buy separate tickets for each mode of transport; further understands that the last day of sales for the scheme is 29 October 2021, just as the COP26 summit gets underway in Glasgow, and that the scheme will cease completely on 31 December 2021; believes that this decision should be reviewed to ensure every effort is being taken to support individuals and families to use green public transport, and calls on the Scottish Government, Transport Scotland and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport to hold urgent talks about the future of the Daytripper scheme.
