Dumfries and Galloway LGBT+ Queen's Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Dumfries and Galloway LGBT+, which has been presented with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service by the Lord Lieutenant for Wigtownshire, Aileen Brewis; understands that The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK, recognises dedicated commitment to supporting a particular community, group or positive cause; understands that Dumfries and Galloway LGBT+, which was formed in 2015, offers training, support, events and volunteering opportunities for LGBT+ young people across Dumfries and Galloway, and has delivered more than 1,000 hours of support and training to businesses, agencies and community groups since its inception, including through attending cattle and agricultural shows and attending schools and higher education institutions; thanks all involved with Dumfries and Galloway LGBT+ for the outstanding work they do each day, and wishes them every success for the future.
