Great British Food Awards Win for Orkney Akvavit

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Orkney Gin Company on being awarded Overall Winner in the spirits category at the Great British Food Awards 2021 for Orkney Akvavit; understands that the Great British Food Awards were launched in 2014 to celebrate the country's finest artisanal produce, as well as the hardworking people behind the scenes; recognises that this is the latest award for the Orkney Gin Company, which has won several highly-acclaimed national and international prizes for its collection of locally-inspired gins; notes that the TV presenter, wine expert, columnist and author, Olly Smith, judged the spirits category and awarded Orkney Akvavit as the overall winner for its exceptional taste; congratulates the owners, Gary and Andrea Watt, and the whole team at the Orkney Gin Company, which is based in Burray, on this latest achievement, and wishes them all the very best for future success.
