Holytown War Memorial Refurbished to Mark its 100th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament commends the Paterson Group, based in North Lanarkshire, for its work to restore the Holytown war memorial; understands that the work has been carried out to mark 100 years since the war memorial was erected by J Paterson and Sons Builders, in 1921, and that the Paterson family business continues to operate in the building industry to the present day; notes that the memorial commemorates the men of Holytown district who died in the two World Wars and the Korean War, and recognises the importance of this local landmark and the role it plays as a focal point for the local community.
