Scotland’s First Biorefinery Completed
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the completion of the construction of Celtic Renewables biorefinery, in Grangemouth; believes that this new facility is the first of its kind to be built in Scotland and will use technology patented by Celtic Renewables to convert 50,000 tonnes of unwanted and low-value biological material into high-value renewable chemicals, sustainable biofuel, and other commercially and environmentally valuable commodities; recognises the importance of investing in new technologies and encouraging industries to drive innovation to tackle climate change and helping to achieve sustainability across all sectors; congratulates Celtic Renewables on delivering Scotland’s first biorefinery in partnership with Muir Construction, and looks forward to seeing the facility online and operational in the near future.
