Scottish Landfill Communities Funding for Slamannan
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes funding of £24,631 through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund supported by SUEZ Communities Trust, which has been awarded to Falkirk Council; understands that the Trust distributes landfill tax credits donated through SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK to enhance communities; further understands that this funding has been awarded to upgrade The Rumlie in Slamannan, which is currently the site of a redundant football pitch and remnant play equipment with uneven ground and waterlogged areas; believes that the upgrades are expected to include a new graded path, tree planting, and meadow and wetland grass seeding, which will aim to create a safe and accessible community space for local residents to relax and enjoy the enhanced biodiversity and nature; congratulates Falkirk Council on being successfully awarded this funding, and looks forward to seeing The Rumlie restored in the near future.
