The motion

That the Parliament warmly welcomes that the Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, has been appointed an MBE at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle for services to vulnerable children; notes that Marcus was recognised for his drive to ensure that no child in need went hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic; acknowledges that, in March 2020, he took to social media to highlight his fears about the impact that shutting schools would have on disadvantaged children, and understands that he subsequently campaigned to ensure that no vulnerable child went hungry in the UK, resulting in the UK Government changing its policy over free school meal vouchers during lockdown.
