Commending Irene Whiteside

The motion

That the Parliament commends Irene Whiteside of Balgonie, Paisley, for her many years of service to the people and animals living in Paisley and Renfrewshire; applauds what it sees as the selfless dedication she has shown to her voluntary efforts to find, rescue and rehome lost animals, which have reunited so many lost pets with their distraught owners; understands that this has also involved the difficult work of helping and consoling pet owners whose animals have sadly passed away, or have remained lost; commends Irene’s indefatigable commitment to her voluntary work, to the extent, it understands, of even staying up all night to monitor traps to find lost animals; commends also Lynn Anderson, Danielle McGuire and Brian McGuire for their invaluable work assisting Irene; understands that Irene is held in huge affection and respect by the community, and sends Irene all best wishes for the future.
