Lodged by Annie Wells Standard Motion 21 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the planting of 24 Japanese cherry trees at Glasgow Green by the Sakura Cherry Tree Project; understands that, by planting thousands of sakura trees across the UK, the project hopes that the trees will be a strong symbol of friendship that can be supported and enjoyed by future generations; further understands that the mission of the project is to bring a sign of the relationship between the UK and Japan to communities across the country, and notes that it is hoped that they will enjoy the cherry blossom each spring, as a reminder of a new season of potential collaboration and growing friendships.
