Electric Car Charging Points for Disabled Drivers
The motion
That the Parliament believes that there needs to be a significant expansion of electric car charging points throughout Scotland to enable the shift to electric vehicles by 2030 to help tackle climate change; understands that concerns have been raised about the maintenance of the existing charging infrastructure and restricted access for disabled people to many of the existing charging points, and considers that accessibility considerations should be included in the design of charging points from the outset to ensure that disabled people are not disadvantaged as Scotland moves towards the target of phasing out petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030.
