The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the opening of a an indoor cycle hub at Glasgow Queen Street railway station as part of its redevelopment to make it easier for passengers to have a more sustainable journey by creating demand for more cycling to commuter stations; notes that it is situated near the North Hanover Street entrance and has the capacity to store 38 bicycles; understands that a further canopy-covered bike rack is set to be installed in the coming weeks next to this, which will hold a further 26 bikes, and notes that there is an outdoor space for 36 cycles spaces at the Dundas Street side of the station; understands that the hub is open from 7am to 10pm but that passengers can arrange access outside of these hours by speaking with station staff; believes that ScotRail wants to join up journeys across the country, and that this plan includes supporting customers whose journeys start and end by bike, and understands that the operator hopes that the new hub will encourage more people to use bikes as part of their journey.
