Alex Clark of Orkney Cycle Recognised by Bikeability Scotland

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Alex Clark, who is the owner of Orkney Cycle, on being recognised as the highly commended runner-up in Bikeability Scotland's Instructor of the Year Award 2021; notes that Bikeability Scotland, which is the national cycle training programme for school children and managed by Cycling Scotland, is a network of trainers teaching vital bike skills and on-road training; understands that more than 300,000 pupils have participated since 2010; notes that Alex was recognised for his dedication and commitment by "flying the extra mile" to ensure that primary pupils across Orkney have the opportunity to benefit from on-road cycle training; commends Alex for his dedication to bike safety, particularly to young people, and to supporting the cycling across communities in Orkney, and wishes him all the very best for future.
