Aberdeen Airport and UK Connectivity
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement from easyJet that the airline intends to resume its seasonal Aberdeen to Manchester service from March 2022; understands that the airline will also double the number of flights between Aberdeen and London Gatwick to meet demand for the route; notes the reported comments of Aberdeen Airport that “rebuilding our connectivity will play a vital role in supporting the recovery of the north east”, and considers that these plans are a step in the right direction; notes, however, the reported concerns of Aberdeen Airport that “we are not yet back to anything like normal operations”, and supports continued efforts to get Scottish aviation off the ground as it seeks to recover from the impact of the pandemic.
