Brian Hurren Music Academy, Falkirk
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the opening of a new music academy in Falkirk, founded by musician, producer and former Runrig keyboard player, Brian Hurren; notes that the Brian Hurren Music Academy is holding a special grand opening event, on 27 November 2021, for people to check out the venue and resources at their Tattie Kirk base, in Falkirk, before launching fully on 1 December; considers that music tuition and access to music are important for the creative development and enjoyment of children and young people; notes the commitment of the Scottish Government to maintaining free instrumental music tuition in schools and believes that this will benefit the education of pupils across Scotland; looks forward to the launch of the Brian Hurren Music Academy in December, and wishes Brian and everyone involved continued success.
