North Lanarkshire Active Schools Awarded Bikeability Scotland’s Annual Achievement Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates North Lanarkshire Active Schools on being recognised for receiving the prestigious Bikeabilty Scotland Annual Achievement Award; notes that the Bikeability Scotland training programme, which is managed by Cycling Scotland, delivers cycle training to more than 350,000 school pupils throughout Scotland; understands that during the 2020-21 school year, North Lanarkshire Active Schools delivered Bikeability Scotland training to more than 40,000 pupils, doubling the previous delivery rate in the area, despite the school disruptions due to the pandemic, and commends North Lanarkshire Active Schools for delivering more Level 1 and 2 Bikeability training than ever before, in conjunction with the Strathclyde Park Outdoor Education Programme.
