Dumfries and Galloway Success at Scotland Loves Local Awards

That the Parliament congratulates all organisations and groups who have been successful in being featured on the Scotland Loves Local 2021 Roll of Honour; understands that Scotland Loves Local is a national initiative designed to encourage all those who live in Scotland to think local first and support their high streets safely and in line with public health guidelines; considers that the awards, which cover seven categories, recognise the best in high street and local business initiatives; congratulates the Eskdale Foundation in Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway, for winning the Town Centre Living Award, sponsored by ThreeSixty Architecture, which recognises community efforts to support a vibrant town centre and fosters an inclusive and open atmosphere in which to live; commends the town of Sanquhar, Dumfries and Galloway, which was a runner-up in the Creative Town Award sponsored by Creative Scotland, for the work of the Institute of Local Television in promoting Sanquhar’s vibrant arts scene, including promotion of the internationally-renowned Sanquhar Pattern; expresses its thanks to all involved for everything they do to support and promote high streets, local businesses and town centres, and wishes all winners and finalists well for the future.
